All partners handle implementations, Those endeavors are easy. Blank slate + wish list = easy launch. Re-implementations is the dirty word no one in the Salesforce.com community wants to talk about. We don’t want to admit they happen. They happen—a lot. In case you don’t bother with the rest of this list know that over half of our business is fixing existing implementations (or in some very unfortunate cases throwing out what you have and starting the scratch). Selecting a partner can be daunting especially when you’re not certain what skills and expertise are needed for either new or existing orgs. It’s almost impossible to properly assess if what a company says it can do is truly achievable with the staff you’ll be assigned. Unlike most Salesforce.com partners we want your setup to be sustainable by your internal staff long after we’re gone. The more declarative approaches used, ie clicks over code, the better. Many shops focus on custom coding instead of leveraging the more simplistic approaches because they offshore coding on the cheap with an eye on maximizing their margins. Coding also makes you deeply dependent on them for the long term since it’s often harder to diagnose and correct coding.

Like System Integration, the word Marketing means a lot of different things to different people. It is a brochure or a multi-faceted, drip postal mail and email campaign targeting your tier 2 audience to secure a 0.05% open rate on mass emails that will via your Campaign Influence Model contribute to $1,000,000 in new Closed Won sales amongst new clients in the 365 days? The same quandary applies to system integration. Is what you need a true integration or is that just the term being used? If so, which system is the system of record? In what direction is the data flowing? How will data be normalized? And on and on. If you truly seek to integrate Salesforce.com with others systems no website verbiage is going to help. You’re likely paying for things you are not even using. Able Cloud who has no stake in what you ultimately purchase from Salesforce.com. Salefsorce.com or other providers. Know that the upfront discussion (or periodic review if the ink has already dried) does not make it easy to downgrade or alter contracts so being armed with our guidance and instructions can optimize your out of pocket costs.
